Once

I cannot say enough about this movie. I just can't. I have seen it like 5 times and have fallen in love each and every time. The songs in this film are amazing. Glen Hansard is genius.

Boho Wedding

This picture kinda sums up how I want my wedding to be. Love the feel of this, love the clothes and the whole vibe.
Picture above was taken by Cory Kennedy.

Train bliss
This is the second time this week I got a seat on the train from tampines. This is amazing to me this has only ever happened once before a long long time ago. Did they finally add more trains during rush hour?

Meat Alert
I am so gonna make these soon! Will update after taste test! But think it'll be yummy cos it has meat and breadcrumbs and cheese and egg PLUS it's deepfried so it can't do no wrong! Drooooooooool!!!
Crispy Lamb Chops

10 lamb chop cutlets with bone in
175g fresh white breadcrumbs
10g grated parmesan
2 eggs, beaten with salt and pepper
olive oil (not extra virgin) for frying
1. Layer the chops between two sheets of clingfilm, and beat them vigorously with a mallet or rolling pin so that they are flattened a little.
2. Combine the breadcrumbs and parmesan, and put the seasoned eggs in another bowl.
3. Dip the lamb chops first in the eggy mixture and then press them well in the cheese and breadcrumbs before frying them in the hot oil. Cook the chops for about 3 minutes each side: they should be a deep golden brown and crunchy outside, within a still tender pink.
Recipe from my Food God NIGELLA!

Into the Wild

"Two years he walks the earth,
No phone, no pool, no pets,
No cigarettes.
Ultimate freedom.
An extremist, an aesthetic voyager whose home is the road...
And now, after two rambling years,
comes the final and greatest adventure,
the climactic battle to kill the false being within,
and victoriously conclude the spiritual pilgrimage...
No longer to be poisoned by civilization he flees,
and walks alone upon the land to become
lost in the wild."
- Alexander Supertramp
May 1992
(Pic above is his famous self-portrait at the Magic Bus)
I was disturbed when I first heard Chris McCandless story, and when I read Jon Krakauer's book, and then again when I saw Sean Penn's film. I think I just cannot understand how anyone could do what he did. Sure he was too idealistic, to the point of being stupid.... but he believed in something and chased it right to the end.
Sad his story is, but somehow you get the sense that he was happy and fulfiled, even at the lowest point in his life, and guess that is all one really needs.
